About Me

As a cancer biology researcher, I have a background in cellular and molecular biology and nanobiotechnology. The topic of my research is “targeted cancer therapy.” During my M.Sc. and Ph.D. studies, I became familiar with the principles and applications of smart drug delivery to cancer cells based on aptamers (DNA and RNA). As of right now, I am focusing on finding theranostic targets in cancer cells using the “Onco-Multi-OMICS” approach and learning about “cancer neuroscience.”

During my B.Sc., I studied cellular and molecular biology and became interested in cancer biology. In my master's program, I studied medical physiology and worked on gastric cancer-targeted drug delivery. As a result of this experience, I have gained a wide range of skills, including MKN45 cell culture, MTT assays, and animal cancer models. I have also gained skills in synthesizing and characterizing nanoparticles (NPs) (DLS, FTIR, AFM).

While pursuing my Ph.D., I studied nanobiotechnology and attempted to enhance the knowledge I gained during my master's degree, and I gained experience in U-87 stem cell culture, XTT assay, DLS, FTIR, AFM, FE-SEM, TEM, Confocal microscopy, Annexin V -FITC/PI and q-PCR. Additionally, I have studied signaling pathways such as Wnt/beta-catenin, autophagy, MDR, angiogenesis, PI3k/AKT/mTOR, EMT, and telomere-associated proteins as well.

As part of my first postdoctoral fellowship at the Tehran University of Medical Sciences & University of Manitoba, I continued my research on glioblastoma (GBM) and investigated how probiotics can modulate the gut-brain axis and how metabolites can alter the proliferation of glioblastoma cells. Furthermore, I worked on predicting diagnostic and therapeutic panels based on gene-metabolite interactions in the metastatic process of GBM cells through systems biology.
